Overview
You can offer Customer Portal content in multiple languages and translate its navigation labels. Languages are configured for each product, so your Feedback Portal, Help Center, and Updates can have different language sets.
Understand language selection
Customers can use the language selector for the page they are viewing. On the Requests and Roadmaps pages, the available languages come from Requests settings. Updates uses its own language settings, and each Help Center manages its own supported languages.
If someone opens the Requests or Roadmaps pages in a language you have not configured, the portal redirects them to the default language set for Requests. Choose a default that works for customers whose language you do not offer.
Configure languages for each product
Feedback and Roadmaps: Set the Requests languages and manage automatic Request translation, category names, and portal wording
Help Center: Configure each Help Center's languages and translate its articles and collections
Outbound and Updates: Prepare language versions of the messages and announcements you publish
Messenger: Configure the language experience in your embedded support widget
Settings → Workspace → Multilingual has a tab for each of your products, such as Requests, Help Center, and Outbound for Updates.
Translate portal navigation
The menu editor offers the languages configured for Requests and Updates. Add the languages you need in those products first, then translate the names customers use to move between pages:
Open a page's ••• menu and choose 'Edit menu item', or click 'Configure' beside a custom link
Choose a language beside Icon & name
Enter the translated name and repeat for the other languages you use
Click 'Save changes'
The language selector appears only when more than one language is configured.
Tip: Keep labels short enough to fit the navigation.
Check the customer experience
Open the portal and switch between the languages you configured. Follow links between Requests, Roadmaps, Help Center, and Updates to check that each destination has the expected content and labels. Check long menu names and the layout of any supported right-to-left language.
Note: The public portal adapts its text direction for supported right-to-left languages. The teammate dashboard keeps its usual layout.
