Overview

You can offer your Feedback Portal in multiple languages and translate Request content for customers. Language settings, your custom wording, and automatic content translation are separate parts of the setup.

Use the shared Customer Portal language settings to keep language choices consistent across your portal.

Choose feedback languages

  1. Go to Settings → Workspace → Multilingual → Requests

  2. Choose your 'Default language'

  3. Select the other languages you want under 'Additional languages'

The default language is the primary language of your Feedback Portal. Additional languages become choices for customers.

Translate portal and category text

Review your custom wording in each language you enable.

Portal wording

  1. Go to Settings → Requests → Collection → Feedback Portal → Wording

  2. Choose the 'Editing language'

  3. Edit 'Welcome title', 'Welcome message', and 'Request button'

  4. Click outside each changed field to save it

Category names and welcome text

  1. Go to Settings → Requests → Management → Categories and edit a category

  2. Select the language beside the category name and enter its translated name

  3. Open Portal → Category welcome text to customize the heading, description, and submit button for that language

  4. Click 'Save changes'

Use category wording when a category needs its own instructions.

Configure automatic Request translation

In Settings → Workspace → Multilingual → Requests, turn on 'Automatic translation' to translate Requests into the additional language a customer chooses on your Feedback Portal. The Usage section on the same page shows translation usage when automatic translation is enabled.

Note: Automatic translation covers Request titles and content. It does not replace the custom welcome text you maintain in portal or category settings.

Use the right language in widgets

For the Feedback widget, select the language while editing its title and description. Your developer can pass the locale option when initializing the widget to choose the customer's language.

Use the locale option for the embedded Feedback Portal as well. Check the language in the embedded experience after installation, including custom wording.

FAQs

No. Adding a language does not write your custom welcome messages for you. Set the portal wording and category text yourself in each language you enable.

Yes. A translated Request can be switched back to its original text. When a Request is in another language and no translation is shown, its translation action lets the customer request one.

In Settings → Workspace → Multilingual → Requests, deselect the language from 'Additional languages' and confirm. To remove the default language, choose a new default first.
