Overview

Request statuses show where a Request stands, such as being reviewed, planned, in progress, or completed. You can customize the status names and colors to match your team's process.

Each status also belongs to a type. The name tells readers what it means; the type lets Featurebase distinguish stages such as active and completed work.

Manage statuses

Create and arrange statuses

  1. Go to Settings → Requests → Management → Statuses

  2. Click 'New' beside the appropriate type

  3. Enter a status name and choose a color

  4. Click 'Add Status'

The available types are Reviewing, Planned, Active, Completed, and Canceled. For example, In progress belongs under Active, while Shipped belongs under Completed.

Drag statuses within a type to change their order.

Note: Choose the type by the state it represents, not by where you want the name to appear. Featurebase uses the type, not the name, to decide which Requests count as completed.

Set the default status

Open a status's menu and choose 'Set default'. The default is the starting status for new Requests when no other status has been selected. The list marks it with Default.

Edit or remove a status

Click a status to edit its name or color, then click 'Change status'. Use its menu to delete it.

Important: Deleting a status moves Requests that use it to your current default status. Review the affected Requests before deleting it.

Use statuses in Requests and Roadmaps

Change an individual Request's status from its Request details. Sending Request status updates explains how to include a message and notify customers.

Use statuses to organize a Roadmap or to filter and group Request views. To hide status labels from customers without changing the statuses themselves, use Feedback Portal display settings.
