Overview
The Featurebase ↔ Discord integration lets you add our Discord bot to your server. Your Discord users can then use the /feedback command to send feedback from Discord to Featurebase for voting, better overview, and prioritization.
Key features:
/feedback command to let users submit feedback from Discord
Save messages as feedback from the chat with a “Send to Featurebase” button
Get notified about new Featurebase posts on your Discord channel
Enable users to log in to Featurebase with their Discord account (OAuth)
Example: Your users suggest a new feature in your Discord chat. You can just right-click on the text and select “Send to Featurebase“ which creates a new post about it on your board.
You can also just guide users to submit feedback by using the /feedback command.
Setting up the Discord integration
1. Setting up the /feedback command
To start sending feedback from Discord to Featurebase:
In Featurebase, go to Settings → Integrations
Next to Discord, click Configure
Under the Discord Bot section, click the Add Bot button.
Once the bot has been added to your server, use the /setup command in your Discord
Copy the secret key from Featurebase settings and paste it into the /setup command on Discord
2. New post notifications in Discord
To start receiving new Featurebase post notifications to your Discord server:
In Discord, click the ⚙ gear icon next to the text channel you want to receive updates to
Go to the Integrations tab in that channel’s settings
Click Create Webhook and then New Webhook
Give your new webhook a name (e.g. New Feedback) and add a picture if you wish to
Copy the Webhook URL
In Featurebase, go to Settings → Integrations and click Configure next to Discord
Paste the Webhook URL to the correct field
Click Save
Good to know: Testing the notifications won’t work while logged in as an admin in Featurebase, as admin posts won’t send notifications to Discord.
3. Letting users log in with their Discord accounts
In Featurebase, go to Settings → Integrations
Next to Discord, click Configure
Check the Discord OAuth box
How to use
1. Send feedback from Discord to Featurebase
With the Discord Bot set up, you and your Discord users can use the /feedback command to send feedback directly from Discord to Featurebase
Moreover, admins (only) can send existing messages from chat to Featurebase by right-clicking on them and selecting Apps → Send to Featurebase
2. Receive new post updates to your Discord channel
You can also start receiving updates about new posts on your Featurebase boards. It’s a neat way to always stay up to date about the latest user requests.
3. Let your users log in to Featurebase using their Discord accounts
Finally, your users can log in to Featurebase using their Discord accounts, so they don’t have to create a new separate Featurebase account.
And that's it! 🎉 If you have any ideas about how we can improve the Discord integration, please post on our feedback board.
