Overview

Export Requests to a CSV file to analyze them in a spreadsheet or prepare data for another tool. The export includes Request details, author information, labels, status, and available form values.

The export covers Request records across your Workspace, not the filtered list you have open.

Export Request data

  1. Go to Settings → Data → Imports & Exports

  2. Click 'Export Data'

  3. Keep the page open while Featurebase prepares the file

  4. Save the CSV file when the download opens in a new browser tab

Preparing the file can take up to 30 seconds. Allow pop-ups for the dashboard so the download can open, and save the file within 24 hours, because the download link then expires. Featurebase also limits how often a Workspace can export. If you see Too many exports, wait before trying again.

Note: Exporting requires the permission to export Requests. If the export fails with an error, ask a Workspace admin to review your teammate role.

Understand the exported fields

The CSV includes:

  • Request content: Title, plain-text description, creation date, and link

  • Author details: Name, ID, email, and profile picture URL

  • Organization and progress: Category, labels, status, review state, ETA, and whether comments are allowed

  • Customer demand: Requester count and associated monthly spend

  • Form values: One column for each of your form fields, headed Custom Field: followed by the field label

  • Development links: IDs and URLs of Linear and Jira issues linked to the Request where available

Use the file

Filter or analyze the CSV in your spreadsheet tool. If you plan to import it elsewhere, check that tool's supported columns and mapping rules first.

Use Importing feedback from other tools for Featurebase's own import workflow.

Tip: To export the individual people behind one Request, use the Requester CSV instead of the Workspace export.

FAQs

The export runs across Request data in your Workspace. It does not use the filters, search, or saved view you have open in the Requests list. Filter the CSV in your spreadsheet tool after downloading it.

Some CSV headers retain older terms. Board Name is the category, Tags are labels, and Upvote Count is the Requester count. Keep the original headers when comparing exports or mapping the file into another tool.

No. A Request CSV does not contain the discussion or activity history of a Request. Merged Requests do not appear as separate rows; only the Request they were merged into is exported.

Insights and the original feedback records created during AI organization are also separate from this Request export.
