Welcome to the Jira integration guide.

I'm going to walk you through all the steps of setting up the integration in just a couple of minutes.

Step 1. Installing Featurebase for Jira

Installing is as simple as navigating to the Atlassian Marketplace and clicking Get it now.

You can find our listing from this link.

Choose the correct site and press Install app.

You will then be redirected to your Jira instance. Once there, click the blue Get it now button to finish the installation.

Step 2. Connecting to Featurebase

Once installed, press the Configure button.

If you cannot find the configure button, go to Apps -> Manage your apps.

Then you can find Featurebase for Jira -> Configure

We now need to paste the Featurebase API key into the Configure page.

To get the API key, go to your Featurebase Dashboard -> Settings -> Integrations -> Configure Jira

Copy the API key and paste it into the configuration page. Press Save to finish configuring.

If you see a green 'You are connected to Featurebase' button, you have successfully connected your Jira instance to Featurebase.

Step 3. Creating rules & configuring the integration

If you've done all the previous steps correctly, you should now see additional settings for the Jira integration.

Start by picking a default team, default issue type, and what happens when you delete a linked Jira post.

Now comes the most important part of the setup - creating rules for syncing. This step is a must if you want to keep posts between Featurebase and Jira in sync with each other.

Click the 'New Jira Rule' button in the bottom right to create a rule.

We recommend creating rules for each Jira Status so that linked posts are always in sync.

And that's it! Linked posts should sync perfectly from now on.

Using the integration

Pushing Featurebase posts to Jira

It's super easy to sync an existing Featurebase post to Jira.

Open the post in your Dashboard and click the Jira icon on the top right. Choose Create new issue.

Change the contents to your liking and click Push to Jira

You should now have a matching post in Jira. Click the Jira icon again and choose View linked issue to view it in Jira.

Link to existing Jira issue

You can also link a Featurebase post to an existing Jira issue.

Press the Jira icon on a post and choose Link to existing issue

Find the post you want to link to and click Link to issue.

Accessing the Featurebase post from Jira

We have added a View Featurebase button for your Jira so that you can easily link to and view associated Featurebase posts.

Click on the View Featurebase button and if the issue is not yet linked, easily link it to a Featurebase issue.

If the issue is already linked, you will see the relevant Featurebase post along with its comments straight from Jira.
