Overview
With Outbound, your team can create personalized messages that look great, with speed, confidence, and ease. It’s quick to style your text, insert images, and easy to add a call-to-action - all with a few simple clicks.
For help choosing the best format before you start, see Choose the right channel for your outbound message.
Create a new message
To create an Outbound message:
Go to Dashboard → Outbound
Click New Message
Choose Start from scratch, or pick a template from Popular or one of the message type tabs
Select Chat, Banner, Email, Survey, or Update
Format content

Use the content editor to format the message body with rich formatting is available. You can select text to apply formatting such as bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, links, and inline code.
Use the formatting menu to add supported content blocks such as headings, lists, code blocks, images, videos, dividers, and other rich content.
Note: Some compact fields, such as Email subject lines, Banner action text, and URL fields, support less formatting than the main message body.
Personalize

Use dynamic variables to personalize supported message fields with user, company, teammate, or workspace data.
Type { in the editor, or choose Insert Variable where it appears, then select the variable you want to add. Add fallback text so the message still reads naturally if the value is missing.
Add videos, images, and links

Use the insert menu and choose Image or Video, or drag and drop supported media into rich message editors where file insertion is available.
To add a link, paste or type the URL into the editor, or select text and use the link option. For Banner calls to action, set ‘Action type’ to Open a URL, then add the button Text, URL, and click behavior.
Tip: Check the preview while editing. It shows the selected message and language version so you can catch missing copy, broken links, or layout issues before activation.
Tag, Duplicate or Delete a message

You can use the ••• three dots in the top right menu to manage the message:
Tag to keep related Outbound messages organized in your workspace
Duplicate creates a separate copy you can edit
Delete removes the message after confirmation
Outbound message tags use your workspace Conversation tags. When a message starts a new conversation, Featurebase applies the selected tags to that conversation.
Notes:
Deleting an Outbound message cannot be undone. If you want to reuse the content with a different audience, duplicate the message instead.
You can add up to 20 tags to a message. To remove tags, open the message and update its selected tags.
Take bulk actions on outbound messages

Use bulk actions to manage several Outbound messages from the message list. To take a bulk action:
Go to Dashboard → Outbound
Select the messages you want to manage
Use the bulk action bar to choose Tag, Pause, or Delete
Tag - lets you select existing conversation tags or create a new tag. Existing tags are kept.
Pause pauses the selected messages
Delete permanently deletes the selected messages and their delivery history after confirmation
Bulk tagging only adds tags to selected messages. To remove a tag, open an individual message and update its selected tags.
Note: Updates are managed in the Updates editor, so they are not included in these message bulk actions.
