Overview
Create a Roadmap to show a focused set of Requests. Choose which Requests it includes, arrange them into columns or time periods, and set the audience before you share it.
Create a Roadmap
Open Settings → Requests → Management and select 'Roadmaps'
Click 'New roadmap'
Enter a name, then add an icon and description if needed
Set the Base filters for the roadmap, such as a product category or label
Under Type, choose 'Custom columns' or 'Date-based' and configure the columns or dates as described in the next section
Set Visible by to the intended audience
Click 'Create roadmap'
If you already have a similar Roadmap, use Copy setup from another roadmap while creating the new one. This copies the source Roadmap's filters, columns, layout, and access rules into the new Roadmap, where you can adjust them before you create it.
Note: Check the copied access rules before you create a Roadmap for a different audience.
Choose a layout
Custom columns
Choose 'Custom columns' to group Requests by conditions such as status or category.
Open a column under Shown columns
Set its name, icon, and color
Add filters for the Requests that should appear in that column
Click 'Add new column' for each additional group
Drag the column handles to arrange their order
Each column applies its own filters on top of the Roadmap's base filters. For example, a base filter can select your mobile product category, while column filters select different statuses.
Date-based
Choose 'Date-based' to organize Requests into time periods.
Set Value type to ETA or a custom date field
Set Timeframe to Month, Quarter, or Half year
Check that the Requests you want to show have that date set in their Request details
Tip: The selected date decides the period a Request appears in, so use dates your team keeps current.
Control content and display
The base filters define the Roadmap's overall scope, and column filters define each group. To include or exclude completed work, adjust the status filters instead of changing the Requests themselves. Filtering and saved views explains the Request properties you can filter by.
The Roadmap's Ordering setting controls how Requests are arranged within each column or period.
In Requests & Insights → Roadmaps, open Display options to choose the ordering and the properties shown on Request cards in your own dashboard view, such as descriptions, categories, labels, ETAs, Requesters, and Impact. These display options do not change what customers see on the Roadmap.
Edit, reorder, or delete Roadmaps
Return to Settings → Requests → Management, select 'Roadmaps', and open a Roadmap to edit it. Click 'Save changes' after editing its name, description, filters, or columns. Changes to its type, date settings, and audience save as soon as you select them.
You can also work from the Roadmap tabs in Requests & Insights → Roadmaps. Open the tabs menu to click 'New roadmap', or open a Roadmap's menu there and choose 'Edit roadmap' or 'Delete roadmap'. These actions need permission to manage Roadmaps.
Drag Roadmaps in the settings list, or drag the tabs in Requests & Insights → Roadmaps, to change their order. To remove a Roadmap in settings, click 'Delete' and confirm.
To change where customers find Roadmaps in your portal, use Customer Portal navigation settings. To give customers a link or embedded view, see Sharing your Roadmap.
Important: Deleting a Roadmap removes only that Roadmap's configuration. Its Requests stay in your Workspace.
