Overview
Status change emails are a simple yet effective way to keep everyone informed about the development of a feature they are interested in.
When your team changes the status of a feedback post (e.g. In review → Planned), you can choose to send out an email letting upvoters know about the update.
✉️ Only upvoted users will get status change emails. Featurebase admins will not be notified.
Sending status update emails

When you change the status of a post (e.g. In review → Planned), you can choose to send a notification email letting all upvoters know about the update.
You can also include a message with the update that will appear in both the email and the post's comments.
P.S. If you’re using one of our issue-management integrations (e.g. Jira or Linear), changing the status of a linked issue there also sends out this notification.
This is a great way to automatically keep users updated about the development without even visiting Featurebase.
Email customizations
By default, all notification emails will be in your brand color but sent from our domain.
On the paid plans, you can add your own custom sending address and personalize emails even more by swapping our logo with yours and having a custom Reply-To address, ensuring these updates perfectly match your brand identity.

Things to remember
Access: Only users with access to the specific board will receive email notifications. If a board is private, users without access will not receive any status change notifications for posts on that board.
Admins: As an admin, you won't receive an email when a post’s status is updated. This is to keep your inbox decluttered and focused.
Replying: Replies to emails don't act as post comments. Growth Plan customers can change the Reply-To address to their own to get email replies from users (without them being counted as comments). All emails come from info@featurebase.app.
Unsubscribing: At the bottom of each email is the option to manage email preferences and unsubscribe from those you don’t want to receive.
