Overview

You can make all posts made on a certain board default to Author-only.

Author-only posts are private and visible only to admins and the post authors themselves on the board. This can be very useful for sensitive feedback, like bug reports, etc.

P.S. Boards can also be defaulted to ‘company-only’ - meaning posts will be visible to your team and also all members of the author's company.

Tip: We like to keep our 🐛 Bug Report board author-only by default to restrict the visibility of potentially sensitive information.

How to default a board to author-only

To default a board to author-only:

  1. Go to Settings → Feedback → Boards & Typography

  2. Click Edit on the desired board or create a new one

  3. Select ‘Private between author’ under the ‘Post visibility in this board’

  4. Click Save changes

Manually toggling a post to author only

To manually turn a single post into author-only:

  1. Open the post

  2. Click the eye icon on the top right corner

You can toggle it off by clicking the icon again.

P.S. You can also make posts author-only from the Moderation tab if you have Post Moderation enabled.
