There are 3 different ways to share your Feedback Portal with your users:

  1. Using a link to your Feedback Portal

  2. Using feedback widgets

  3. Embedding it natively into your app

At the end of each step, please make sure to also implement automatic user authentication & connecting customer data to feedback.

1. Sharing a link to your Feedback Portal

The easiest way to share your Feedback Portal is to share its link with your users through social media and different communication channels.

You can also add it to a button or a text inside your product.

Just copy the URL of your live Feedback Portal (e.g. https://yourcompany.featurebase.app) and paste it where you like on your page or app.

To make sure users do not have to worry about authentication, we highly recommend implementing the Automatic user authentication & connecting customer data to feedback step.

Tip: Many of our customers like to feature their Feedback Portals in their marketing page’s footers and product menus.

2. Using a feedback widget

Our recommended way of collecting feedback from inside your product or website is using embeddable widgets.

Take a look at Feedback Widget guide for setting up our in-app feedback collection widget.

They are great because users don't need to leave your app to give feedback. Plus, you can make it match your design perfectly.

3. Embedding the Feedback Portal natively in your product

The last method is to embed a feedback portal directly inside your app, allowing users to submit feedback, vote on features, and view the changelog.

Here's how to set it up: Embed Featurebase

Highly recommended: Automatic user authentication & connecting customer data to feedback

We highly recommend setting this up to connect users’ data to their feedback and remove the need for users to create a new account to interact with your Featurebase setup.

SDK auth (Starter plan)

Embed a small piece of JavaScript into your application which authenticates users from all widgets and modifies the link you add to Featurebase to automatically authenticate users.

  • Pros: Easier setup, instantly auths from all widgets

  • Cons: Users that come directly from the web (not your app) are not authenticated. Also, does not work for private organizations.

SSO auth (Growth plan)

Replace the entire Featurebase authentication system with your own app’s login system.

  • Pros: Seamlessly authenticates all users who come from your app while also letting those who visit directly from the web log in with your company’s existing account. Users never have to create a Featurebase account.

  • Cons: Takes longer to set up.
